Job Summary
Assemble, combine, and cook ingredients while maintaining a sanitary kitchen and adhering to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures. Prepare ingredients by following recipes, including slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing. Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling, then assemble and refrigerate cold ingredients. Attend to the detail and presentation of each order, maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items, and store leftovers according to established standards. Place and expedite orders and contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team. This full-time role at Canton Christian Home requires alternating weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of cooking experience to include food preparation
- Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
- Exceptional food presentation skills
- Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
- Strong work ethic and high energy level
- Must be available for alternating weekends and holidays
