Job Summary
Assemble, combine, and cook ingredients by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling, while preparing components through slicing, cutting, chopping, and mixing. Maintain a sanitary kitchen and adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, including correct dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items. Store leftovers according to established standards and contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team. Place and expedite orders to ensure efficient service. Requires 2+ years of cooking experience and familiarity with general kitchen equipment. Full-time position at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, with competitive pay and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of cooking experience to include food preparation
- Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
- Exceptional food presentation skills
- Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
- Strong work ethic and high energy level
- Must be able to provide a pleasant dining experience
- Must be able to assemble, combine, and cook ingredients
- Must be able to maintain a sanitary kitchen
- Must be able to attend to the detail and presentation of each order
- Must be able to place and expedite orders
- Must be able to prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients
- Must be able to complete hot meal preparation by grilling, saut�ing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients
- Must adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Must maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items
- Must store leftovers according to established standards
- Must contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
