Job Summary
Under direct supervision of chef or supervisor, prepares and serves food for internal and external customers. Ensures food is prepared, served, held and stored at proper temperatures and under sanitary conditions; responsible for overall sanitation of cafe equipment. Line cook and prep cook responsibilities with emphasis on following recipes, food safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced cafe environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Culinary School or On The Job training program equivalent
- Minimum Work Experience: 2+ years related experience in food preparation, cooking and principles of sanitation and safety preferred
- Required Licenses / Certifications: Food handler's certificate. Or will need to obtain and maintain a current food handler's certificate within 30 days of hire. BLS also required within 90 days of hire
- Must be able to follow recipes precisely; work quickly and accurately; maintain composure in stressful times; work well with people and take direction from Executive Chef and department managers
