Job Summary
Prepare high-quality meals for patients, residents, and visitors by following established recipes and maintaining consistent flavor, quality, and presentation standards. Execute tasks including slicing, dicing, chopping, and cooking while assembling meal items according to assigned pan and portion sizes. Manage ingredient inventory levels to ensure freshness and minimize waste through proper storage, labeling, and rotating of food and non-food items. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining and cleaning all kitchen equipment to required standards. Participate in team meetings, menu and recipe development, and training programs covering cooking procedures, therapeutic diets, and fire safety. Support the Nutrition Services team by performing additional duties such as dishwashing, stocking supplies, and organizing work areas as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or Equivalent
- ServSafe Certification within four (4) months of start date
- Six (6) months of work in food preparation or formal culinary training
- One (1) year of experience working in a high-volume commercial kitchen
- On-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements
