Job Summary
Cook in a skilled nursing setting responsible for preparing meals from scratch, coordinating with the facility’s dietitian and Nursing Services for diet changes, inspecting diet trays, and ensuring timely meal service. Responsible for coordinating food service with other departments, maintaining menus, ensuring food and supplies for upcoming meals, and upholding confidentiality under HIPAA. Requires ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English fluently and to hold an active CPR/BLS certification. Maintain a warm, patient-centered environment and contribute to professional development and growth within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to cook from scratch
- Must have a Food Handler’s Card
- Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Must be knowledgeable of food preparation procedures
- Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English fluently
- Must have an active CPR/BLS certification
- Experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred
