Job Summary
Cook at KinderCare centers responsible for preparing healthy meals and snacks for children, following menus and recipes developed by in-house nutritionist. Maintain kitchen safety and hygiene, order food and supplies, dispense and store medications as requested, and complete timely documentation per KinderCare/licensing requirements. Help with daily center duties, and support center goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement. Requires a Food Handler’s License (or willingness to obtain), 1+ year of institutional cooking (2+ years with children highly desirable), ability to lift up to 40 pounds, basic math for portions, and English communication with children and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain
- At least one year of institutional cooking
- Two or more years working with children (highly desirable)
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Read, write, understand, and speak English
