Job Summary
Cook Associate responsible for assisting the taqueria leader in preparing authentic Mexican dishes, keeping the line presentable and stocked, preparing sauces and salsa bar items, crafting fruit cocktails and handmade corn tortillas, and ensuring cleanliness and safety per Health Department guidelines. Duties include preparing elaborations prior to production, providing excellent customer service, rotating and organizing products in the refrigerator, maintaining salsa bar and tables, and reporting faulty equipment or hazards to management. Requires flexible schedule including weekends and holidays and minimum 1 year of taqueria/restaurant/kitchen experience, with basic math and reading proficiency to manage weights, volumes, and measurements. PERFORM ANY OTHER TASK ASSIGNED BY THE STORE MANAGER.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience in the taqueria area, restaurant or kitchen
- Ability to read at an eighth-grade level
- Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Knowledge of the weight and volume measurements
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
