Job Summary
Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes, including therapeutic diets, special diet orders, and approved substitute meals for residents who refuse items. Ensure meals are palatable and served on time while maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of food service areas. Care for kitchen supplies and equipment, properly care for residents' utensils, and assist with food preparation for special events and parties. Work independently to make sound decisions regarding food safety and portion controls.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities
- Ability to understand and communicate in English
- Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when needed
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety
- Willingness to learn and implement new food service methods and practices
