Job Summary
Prepare meals, snacks, and supplements for hospital patients, staff, and visitors in a safe, sanitary manner. Maintain adequate food quantities for cafeterias while planning pre-preparation activities, obtaining supplies, and organizing equipment for storage. Replenish cafeteria items, assist in preparing patient meal trays, and preserve leftovers with proper labeling and dates. Operate and clean cooking utensils and equipment to keep the preparation area safe and sanitary. Requisition and inventory food items as needed, assist in storing dietetic services items, and handle vending duties including collecting monies from machines. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requires a high school diploma, one year of food preparation experience, valid food handler's permit, and ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One (1) year experience in quantity food preparation or one (1) year on-the-job upgraded experience
- Must read, write, and follow oral and written instructions
- Must make simple arithmetic calculations and computations
- Must obtain valid food handlers permit for appropriate county
