Job Summary
Perform all main line food production duties, including hot and cold line work with open flame, while maintaining quality control and sanitation. Review daily needs with supervisors, complete production sheets, and verify supply availability. Arrange for kitchen helpers to complete smaller item preparations and oversee food serving lines to ensure proper stocking and setup. Maintain food production equipment and storage areas following safety and operational procedures. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and assist other food service personnel as needed. This role supports food service production at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, AK.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler's Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire
- two (2) years of line cook or related work experience
- at least one (1) year of experience demonstrating knowledge of proper food service sanitation methods and equipment, food preparation and quality control procedures
- ServSafe certification required contingent upon 30 days of hire
- Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of directly related culinary vocational training
- Associates Degree in the Culinary Arts
- Catering experience
