Job Summary
Develop healthy balanced menus in consultation with residents, then plan, prepare, and cook meals while accommodating personal preferences and dietary requirements. Monitor menu satisfaction through regular feedback and maintain effective stock rotation to manage catering costs within budget. Oversee safe equipment use, enforce kitchen cleaning schedules, and ensure all food safety records are completed accurately. This role involves 15 hours per week from 8am to 4pm across Thursday/Friday and Saturday/Sunday rotations at Abbeyfield Living Society's Ing Royde facility.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant Certificate in Food Hygiene
- Track record of demonstrable experience of cooking varied, healthy and safe meals to large groups on a regular basis
- Ability to manage resources
- Ability to plan rotas in advance to ensure continuity of the catering service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Two satisfactory employment references
- Enhanced DBS check
