Job Summary
Prepare all meals in accordance with approved menus, meeting mealtime schedules. Record client/staff meal census and maintain current inventory on all commodities and stored goods. Maintain high Health Department standards, cleanliness, sanitation, and good housekeeping, including proper labeling of leftovers and storing deliveries correctly. Assure equipment operates within proper temperature standards and report repair needs. Complete documentation of services on provided forms and assist other WestCare staff as needed. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some possible evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Per West Virginia state regulations, must be at least 21 years of age
- One year experience in institutional food service
- Certified Food Handler Certification or ability to acquire within 90 days (i.,e.: ServeSafe)
- Minimum High school diploma or GED
- 2 (two) years experience in a food service setting
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some possible evenings and weekends
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
- Ability to operate a computer and complete documents in Microsoft Word program formats or the ability to learn
- Ability to respond as needed to crisis situations in an efficient manner
- Ability to follow directives, complete work tasks within scheduled work hours
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
