Job Summary
Cook position in New Seasons Market’s Prepared Foods department requiring high-volume food preparation and customer service. Responsibilities include preparing food for all Prepared Foods stations, following provided recipes and specifications, labeling and dating, stocking and maintaining cases and stations, processing customer orders, assisting customers with product selection and labeling, communicating production priorities, and ensuring food quality and safety. Requires experience in food service or grocery, strong knife skills, familiarity with culinary terminology, the ability to work on a fast-paced team, and reliable attendance. The role involves operating kitchen equipment and working in a retail grocery environment with shift flexibility including evenings, weekends, and holidays; physical demands include standing for long periods and occasional lifting.
Required Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in food service or grocery
- Food preparation and cooking experience
- Solid knife skills
- Ability to read, understand and follow recipes and instructions
- Basic math and computation skills
