Job Summary
Head Cook responsible for preparing and cooking various food items according to recipes, leading cooks, and monitoring production quality. Duties include assembling equipment per airline specifications, packaging and preparing alcoholic beverages for airline flights, maintaining sanitation standards, documenting inventory, following directions, working as part of a team, supporting Hot Food leadership, and performing additional duties as assigned. Requires ability to work varied schedules including weekends/holidays, and to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Prior experience in high-volume institutional catering and a culinary degree/certification are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Culinary degree and/or cook certification preferred
- Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience cooking in a high volume institutional catering environment preferred
- Experience with maintaining temperature logs for all food items prepared is preferred
- Recipe conversion experience required to accommodate daily production needs
- Language/Communication: Read, write, and follow food specifications and menu guidelines; communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
