Job Summary
Cook 2 at Seabee Gold Operation (SSR Mining) on night shift. Responsible for preparing sandwiches for lunches, assisting with soups, lunches, suppers, and sauces, and ensuring kitchen equipment and utensils are clean and ready for use. Maintains proper storage and handling of leftovers, ensures cleanliness of the camp kitchen, follows production schedules, tracks expiration dates and food rotations, and assists in menu planning with the medic and other staff while accommodating special diets and allergies. Duties include grocery shopping to manage costs, ensuring meals and snacks are ready on time, meeting health standards, and coordinating with the local Health Inspector when required. Oversees overall operation and cleanliness of the camp kitchen, adheres to safety practices, and performs additional duties as assigned. Requires strong time management, knowledge of food and catering trends, sanitation, safe food handling, and the ability to lift up to 50lbs. Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. The role operates in a remote, fly-in/fly-out camp in northern Saskatchewan with a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule, including travel from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years professional kitchen experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Diploma from culinary school (advantage)
- Red Seal certification (preferred)
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
- WHMIS Certificate
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in remote fly-in/fly-out camp (asset)
