Job Summary
Prepare food items per guest order including breakfast, entrees, and desserts while maintaining current information on food items, preparation techniques, and ingredients. Employ proper cooking methods, handle and store food according to health and safety standards, and slice, dice, and chop raw products. Carve meats, portion food on serving plates, add gravies, sauces, and garnish as required. Wiping counter areas, sinks, and floors to maintain a clean and safe workstation, and maintain par levels of operating supplies and food products. Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment and utensils in accordance with established guidelines. Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to culinary team members and guests.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain Serve Safe certification
- One year prior experience as cook in high volume food service operation
- High School diploma
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English
- Written communication skills in English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance
- Possess ability to operate an adding machine
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations
- Must be able to tolerate areas with high temperatures
- Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing
- Must present a well-groomed appearance
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs
- Team Members must be drug free
