Job Summary
Prepare all food items for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets using standardized recipes while maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards. Complete station preparation before opening, display buffet items, and breakdown lines at the end of each meal period. Assist in storage, rotation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment, following Health Department regulations and hotel procedures. Operate fire extinguishing equipment and practice safe work habits to avoid injury. Support any kitchen position as needed and adhere to a "Clean As You Go" policy.
Required Qualifications
- Culinary experience
- Flexible and long hours
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Ability to withstand temperature variations both hot and cold
- Thorough knowledge of menus and the preparation required, according to hotel standards
- Proficiency in the following cooking techniques: charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting and par-cooking
- Knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use of each
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field
