Job Summary
Prepares, expedites, monitors, replenishes, and transports meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, and other food items according to production sheets and menu requirements. Arranges mise en place, communicates station needs and discrepancies with the immediate supervisor, and presents menu items per recipe specifications and photos. Reports to the Sous Chef for daily instructions, assists in other kitchen areas as directed, and maintains a clean, sanitary work area while interacting with guests and coworkers professionally. Requires a high school diploma, one to two years of experience, and the ability to read, write, speak English, and perform basic math. Must qualify for a Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and Gaming Control Board license, with physical demands including standing 70% of the time and lifting up to 100 lbs in a high-noise, smoking environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One to two years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and manuals
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
- Ability to perform basic math skills
- Ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e., written, verbal, etc.)
- Qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
- Obtain a non-gaming credential
- Walk 30% of the time
- Stand 70% of the time
- Bend and lift 10% of the time
- Climb up heights in excess of 10 feet
- Lift/move maximum of 100 lbs
- See 20/20, color, and/or peripherally
