Conversion Technician – (Pine Knob, Meadow Brook, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre)

Job Summary
Set up and tear down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, and equipment for games, meetings, functions, and events. Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, tug, boom lifts, and bobcats under OSHA specifications. Assist with load-ins and load-outs, perform manual labor and heavy lifting, and execute work orders to meet event needs in a timely manner. Maintain the facility through repairs, painting, and patching while ensuring a safe work environment by reporting irregularities and safety concerns. Work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in high-noise conditions with exposure to extreme weather and chemicals. Requires high school diploma, two years of general labor experience, and ability to adjust schedules on short notice.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- 2 years of general labor and/or operations experience
- Ability to use heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, tug, boom lift, bobcat etc. with precision and accuracy
- Certification and license where applicable
- Ability to become certified
- Working knowledge of safety requirements, public facility/venue standards, building systems and infrastructure
- Ability to adjust schedule on short notice
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet business deadlines
- Adaptable through change
- Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: ice installation, general maintenance, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, audio visual, computer energy management systems and related codes and regulations for each
- Knowledge of and compliance with Federal and State OSHA regulations, safety practices
- Ability to work in large crowds for an extended period of time
- Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
