Job Summary
Set up and operate conventional manual mills and lathes to machine, fabricate, weld, and assemble prototype liftgate components and units. Produce parts from engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, or verbal instructions while performing MIG welding on aluminum and steel. Operate sit-down forklifts, torch cutters, welders, plasma cutters, drill presses, band saws, grinders, and hand tools, handling heavy equipment safely. Assist with prototype assembly, modification, and testing while following machining specifications, welding standards, and workplace safety procedures. This Temp-to-Hire role on the 1st shift is based in the Santa Fe Springs, CA area.
Required Qualifications
- at least 5 years of manual mill and lathe experience
- minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience on aluminum and steel
- Combined professional experience as both a machinist and welder
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding specifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- proof of technical training
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
- Steel-toe shoes
- personal hand tools
