Controls Technologist/Technician (DDC)

Job Summary
Write software programs according to sequence of operations, generate controls drawings, electrical power drawings, and circuits. Develop programming, graphics, and sequences of operations for DDC systems using BACnet and Modbus protocols. Troubleshoot, wire, and install electrical and HVAC components while testing and commissioning equipment at client job sites. Generate AutoCAD drawings for electrical panels and control schematics, including P&IDs and bills of materials. Support project management during unit installation and commissioning. This role requires a college degree in instrumentation and controls with at least two years of HVAC field experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and reliable personal transport for site travel.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Sequence of Operations for Heating, Cooling, Heat Recovery & Dehumidification Equipment
- Ability to generate AutoCAD Drawing for Electrical Panels as well as Control Schematic Drawing
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus
- Ability to generate P&ID, sequences of operations, drawings, bill of materials
- Develop programming, graphics and sequences of operations for DDC systems
- Project management including problem solving and support during unit installation, testing and commissioning
- Knowledge of the operation of air handling units including fans, variable frequency drives (VFD), Actuators, temperature, Humidity & pressure sensors and control devices including compressors
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD drawing software
- Experience in startup
- Proficiency in English (reading specifications, communications, etc.)
- Experience in troubleshooting, wiring and installation of electrical and HVAC components
- Testing and Commissioning of the equipment at client Job Site
- Own transport for travelling to job site for start up, testing and commissioning of the equipment
- College/Education in instrumentation and controls
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of controls related to HVAC & R system
