Job Summary

The Controls Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of plant electrical, controls, and automation systems. Diagnoses electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control-system failures using root cause analysis and independently performs advanced troubleshooting. Supports PLC-based systems (Ladder Logic, PLC program diagnostics, downloads/uploads, and modifications), HMIs and SCADA, and servo systems/ robotics/motion control. Installs, modifies, and validates wiring and control components; executes Management of Change (MOC) and maintains accurate documentation. Supports fabrication and system modifications to meet engineering and regulatory requirements. Uses SAP/CMMS for work orders and maintenance documentation; trains and mentors maintenance technicians and operators. Ensures safety, GMP, and environmental compliance and contributes to reliability and waste-reduction initiatives. Flexible with schedules and able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery and electrical systems.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or vocational/technical training in electrical, electronics, or industrial controls
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
