Job Summary
Controls Technician in a high-tech, ISO/GMP manufacturing environment focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and improving automation and electrical controls for pharmaceutical rubber manufacturing. Responsibilities include preventive/predictive maintenance, supporting process equipment controls and instrumentation, calibrations, documenting work in SAP/CMMS, ensuring regulatory compliance, participating in CAPA and continuous improvement, and coordinating with engineering, operations, and contractors. Requires strong PLC/HMI knowledge, servo drives, VFDs, instrumentation, electrical schematics/P&IDs, calibration tools, and a hands-on problem-solving approach within a 24/7 manufacturing setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial automation and control systems.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMI systems, industrial sensors, and automation hardware.
- Experience with low-voltage controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, and temperature/pressure control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, signal generators, and calibration equipment.
- Basic understanding of industrial networking concepts related to automation systems.
- Experience working with 110VAC – 480VAC power distribution systems.
