Job Summary
As a Controls Technician, supports manufacturing in troubleshooting automation and controls issues, develops and oversees maintenance procedures, participates on internal teams to facilitate development and continuous improvement of factory automation, helps design, implement and sustain automation equipment, and leverages analytics to improve performance and reliability in manufacturing environments. The role requires PLC/HMI programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens), familiarity with CNC controls, industrial networks, ability to read/modify prints (AutoCAD), experience with SCADA (Ignition), SQL, Python, and hands-on experience with automation components (RFID, vision systems, laser engravers, robots).
Required Qualifications
- Post-high school education required, bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field
- Competent in programming PLCs & HMI’s, specifically Allen Bradley, and ideally Siemens
- Familiarity with CNC controls, primarily Siemens and Fanuc
- Understanding of industrial network infrastructures, including Ethernet and DeviceNet
- Ability to read and understand controls prints. Able to modify prints using AutoCAD.
- Exposure to technologies such as RFID, vision systems, laser engravers and robots
- Experience with SCADA programming, specifically Ignition, as well as exposure to SQL and Python
- Experience leading projects
- Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies
- Previous experience with CNC machining a plus
- Ability to interact in a team environment with other employees and groups
- Post-high school education required, bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- The anticipated pay range for this position is $61,500 - $75,400 annually
