Job Summary
Controls Technician responsible for installation, maintenance, support and improvement of the facility's plant floor control system; serves as plant liaison with outside integrators and contractors to meet business needs on time and within budget; trains maintenance resources and operating technicians during startup of new or modified control systems; provides technical guidance to maintenance teams; drives continuous improvement projects. Key duties include managing Input/Output checkout for new projects, maintaining/modifying PLC programs, troubleshooting system failures, implementing PLC programs, installing and using WonderWare SCADA software, upgrading the plant SCADA system, maintaining validation of PLCs/SCADA, ensuring compliance with GMPs and Food Safety, and collaborating with OEMs/consultants; ensures proper training and on-call support, and works with the Network administrator on the facility controls network. Requires familiarity with PLC/SCADA programming, WonderWare Intouch/ArchestrA, Allen-Bradley platforms, and related industrial automation concepts. Relocation assistance offered within country; visa sponsorship not available; travel up to 10% of time; on-site in Richmond, IN.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2+ year Industrial Technology Certificate, Automation or Electrical Electronic Technology degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years experience in developing and/or changing electrical schematics
- Ability to bend, climb, crawl, work in confined spaces, work in hazardous condition spaces, work in extreme weather conditions, use hazardous materials, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a continual basis and work in a standard office environment
