Job Summary
Controls Technician (2nd Shift) responsible for developing and maintaining automated and electrical systems, troubleshooting PLC-based hardware/software (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), installing and supporting control systems, and driving continuous improvements to maximize uptime and process reliability. Role requires hands-on work with sensors, servos, diagnostics, machine calibration, and program maintenance; includes creating and updating electrical control schematics, backup programs, and TPM/preventive maintenance tasks, while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards (IATF 16949, ISO14001) and supporting Factory 4.0 initiatives. Qualifications emphasize automotive manufacturing experience, PLC proficiency, robotics knowledge, and ability to read/evaluate electrical diagrams; physical requirements include standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automotive manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens) for troubleshooting
- Knowledge of robotics (ABB and Fanuc)
- Ability to interpret and design electrical schematics
- Knowledge of AC and DC motors and variable speed controllers
- Knowledge of pneumatic components and pick and place devices
- Must be able to obtain Hilo, Crane, and/or Aerial lift
- Ability to read and comprehend English safety rules and operating instructions
- Proficiency with AS400 and Microsoft Office suite
