Job Summary
Service & repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low voltage sub-systems (lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet customer and Johnson Controls goals. Develops complex software programs, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operation of the building control system. Produces detailed submittals and communications for customers, consultants, Sales and Service teams, and subcontractors. Works on high-end server controls in a validated environment at a major customer site. Designs, configures, and services technically complex building control systems; creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, BOMs, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics. Develops and tests software, coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals/installation, and assists with loading/commissioning system and network controllers. Provides field change information for as-built drawings and software, keeps management informed of progress and issues, and contributes to owner/operator training and site coordination meetings. May provide work direction to junior technicians. Adheres to safety standards and a strong safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years' experience in HVAC or building automation systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems
- Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e., LON, BACnet)
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools
