Job Summary
Controls Service Technician II handles startup, checkout, and troubleshooting for HVAC building-automation control systems, including BACnet/IP; loads programs and licenses, firmware, and server/controller data; performs system inspections, testing, and documentation, and troubleshoots network/software issues. Responsibilities include migrations from P2 to BACnet, commissioning on new construction and retrofit sites, documenting progress and status, updating submittals/as-builts, and providing on-site and online emergency service while maintaining customer relationships and collaborating with Field Technicians. Requires associate degree or equivalent, 6+ years’ experience preferred, and relevant certifications; frequent travel through Kansas and the Midwest; on-call rotation; strong communication and technical skills.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in installing or servicing electronic control systems; 6+ years preferred.
- Microsoft, Cisco, EIT, ASHRE, NICET, or CISSP certifications are a plus.
- Experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical concepts, and operations.
- Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
