Job Summary
Controls Service Technician 2 responsible for preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and servicing of building control systems with emphasis on complex diagnostics, on-site customer interface, and mentorship of junior technicians. Provides field proposals for retrofits/upgrades, supports sales with technical recommendations, delivers complete documentation, and ensures high levels of customer satisfaction and safety. Must diagnose and repair complex control malfunctions across diverse electronic/digital control systems, communicate effectively with customers, and train others on building automation systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Four (4) years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry
- Vocational School program graduate or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems
- Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment
- Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites
- Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
- Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of programs and software applications
- Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems
