Job Summary
Controls Project Manager responsible for bridging technical control design, field execution, and project management to support a data center project in Burlington, TX. Key duties include supporting controls design reviews, providing owner-side oversight for construction, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities, coordinating among owner, GC, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and commissioning teams, identifying controls design issues and field conflicts, driving resolution of punch list items, tracking milestones and status, reviewing commissioning documentation and QA/QC records, performing field walks to verify installation quality and commissioning readiness, supporting FAT/SAT/startup testing and owner acceptance activities, and delivering clear field reports and status summaries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field
- Experience in controls project management, controls engineering, design engineering, commissioning, or related technical project execution
- Strong communication, documentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate contractors, vendors, engineers, commissioning teams, and owner representatives
- Project management experience including schedule coordination, issue tracking, reporting, stakeholder communication, and milestone follow-up
- PE license not required
- Must meet criteria to be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert, SME, with a clearly established engineering function
- Experience with controls commissioning, integrated systems testing, QA/QC, and turnover processes
- Data center or mission-critical facility experience (preferred)
- Owner’s Representative or client-facing project experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with project controls, issue tracking, commissioning platforms, or construction documentation tools (preferred)
