Job Summary
Controls Project Manager to lead multi-site data center automation programs (20 MW to 200+ MW) for hyperscale, colo, and enterprise facilities. Oversees all construction phases from design-assist through IST and owner turnover; manages field teams and subcontractors on BMS/BAS/EPMS, PLC/SCADA, and automation scopes; coordinates BAS with EPMS, DCS, fire-life-safety, and DCIM; develops build sequences and modular deployment strategies to meet speed-to-market; drives program financials including P&L, forecasts, change orders, and contingency planning; chairs weekly meetings with owners, GCs, trades, and commissioning agents; responds to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and manages change orders; maintains safety, quality, and regulatory compliance; develops MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and project documentation; utilizes Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, BIM360, and cost-management platforms for reporting; contributes to innovation by integrating AI tools, BIM, and data analytics; mentors assistant PMs and engineers and leads standardization across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience delivering large-scale mission-critical controls or automation project management
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR equivalent military/industry experience
- Experience with projects 25-75 MW data center builds a plus
- Proven track record managing $2MM–$200MM+ data center construction projects from design through commissioning (level 4 / level 5)
- Deep knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BMS / BAS), EPMS, and industrial controls platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Ignition, Niagara, etc.)
- Familiarity with IST, NFPA 70E, Uptime Institute Tier III/IV standards, and owner design guides
- Experience managing projects in live mission-critical environments, including retrofits and system integrations
- MOP and SOP development, and turnover documentation (GxP or mission-critical equivalent)
- Strong understanding of MEP, SCADA, DCIM, and control system sequencing and functionality
- Experience with BACnet, Modbus, OPC-UA, Fieldbus, Profibus
- PMP certification or other relevant credentials a plus
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, Primavera P6, Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and project scheduling tools
- Willingness to travel up to 20-50% to project sites as needed
- Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches is a huge plus
