Job Summary
Controls Estimator II responsible for detailed cost estimates for HVAC Controls projects, including materials, sub-contractors, equipment, labor (start-up, service work), and related activities to support Account Managers in bidding and pricing. Develops scope from design-build plans, conducts take-offs and pricing of purchased equipment, and prepares detailed proposals with vendor/sub-contractor quotes. Leads pre-bid reviews with Account Managers, identifies cost-saving opportunities and risks, negotiates with vendors, and coordinates with Operations/Fulfillment to control labor and material costs. Requires an engineering-related degree or equivalent experience (3–7 years), experience with Building Automation/HVAC Controls, and flexibility to work overtime; valid driver's license. Based in Richmond area (Ashland, VA) with on-site Monday-Thursday and Friday options to work remotely, reflecting a hybrid work arrangement. Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (preferred) with 3-7 years of estimating/engineering/construction management experience or equivalent
- experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls and HVAC Systems
- strong financial and business acumen; ability to manage projects on time and on budget
- flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required
- valid driver's license with clean record for 12 months minimum
