Job Summary
Senior Controls Engineer to design, program, and install custom automation systems. Responsibilities include developing PLC and HMI programs to meet project specifications, programming peripheral devices including robotics, vision, and motion control systems, performing machine debugging, validation, and installation/startup at customer sites, assisting in hardware design and requirements development, mentoring junior engineers, and providing occasional technical support/service calls to customers. Travel 25–35% (primarily domestic, with some international assignments).
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in automation (PLC, HMI, motion control, robotics)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, motor controllers)
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred
