Job Summary
Controls Engineering Specialist drives automation and controls programming across plant equipment, including PLCs, motor controls, HMIs, filament winding programs, and servo controls to maximize production; develops understanding of filament winding physics and material handling to identify root causes and implement continuous improvements; provides technical support to Production and Maintenance to troubleshoot production and quality issues; leads electrical projects for upgrades, installs, or repairs; maintains electrical documentation and backup of PLC/servo/robot programs; supports manufacturing data collection systems and ensures equipment safety and compliance; collaborates with maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability; performs PM and recommends process/equipment improvements; adheres to safety rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Controls Technician or Controls Specialist within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, control systems, and technical drawings
- Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematic designs
