Controls Engineer

Job Summary
Design and detail assigned projects for highly automated blast cleaning equipment, collaborating with engineering and shop teams to develop drawings, maintain BOMs within the ERP system, and program PLCs and HMIs per company guidelines. Submit drawings for review, support digital twin development using FactoryTalk Optix and Emulate3D, and participate in virtual machine commissioning. Provide lifecycle support including upgrades, obsolescence planning, remote diagnostics, and software revisions for PLC-based machinery control systems. Approximately 20% travel to jobsites for commissioning and troubleshooting. Work under the direction of the Director of Electrical and Automation to drive production releases and meet timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical or Equivalent 2D software
- Proficiency in Rockwell Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal PLC software
- Proficiency in Rockwell FactoryTalk View or Siemens TIA Portal HMI software
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible related experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in FactoryTalk Optix (preferred)
- Proficiency in Industrial Networking (preferred)
- Experience in Robotics Integration, Vision System, RFID Integration (preferred)
- Experience in Emulate3D (preferred)
- Panel design and build experience (preferred)
- UL experience (UL508A certification preferred)
