Job Summary

Design cost-effective control solutions for building automation systems by creating installation, submittal, and as-built drawings. Obtain and review contract documents, proposals, and equipment submittals to incorporate them into design, then generate Operation and Maintenance Manuals and transition documents to the field. Conduct job surveys, review equipment submittals, and assist with wiring, programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, and graphic development. Acquire knowledge of Trane Controls products and third-party devices while maintaining customer satisfaction through corrective actions and feedback. Work directly on project teams with minimal supervision, guiding other engineers as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas
  • Three (3) plus years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Familiarity with operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls
  • Familiarity with the concepts of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management
  • Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge
  • Experience with a drafting/ design program
  • Understanding of industry standard protocol and requirements for integration
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to advise and guide other engineers
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
