Job Summary
Controls Engineer role focusing on designing, implementing, and validating control systems for bespoke automated machinery. Key responsibilities include developing and modifying PLC, HMI, and motion control systems; integrating control with distributed I/O and network architectures; supporting new machine builds, prototype development, and commissioning; programming and integrating vision systems for inspection and measurement; ensuring safety compliance; producing technical documentation; providing on-site commissioning, fault finding, and customer support; and collaborating with internal teams, customers, and suppliers on project delivery. Requires strong PLC programming (Rockwell/Siemens or similar), motion control knowledge, HMI experience, and willingness to travel internationally for commissioning and support.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working as a Controls Engineer within automation or special-purpose machinery
- Strong PLC programming experience (Rockwell / Siemens or similar)
- Knowledge of motion control systems and control architectures
- Experience with HMI systems and industrial automation software
- Willingness to travel internationally for commissioning and support
