Job Summary

Design and layout control cabinets for industrial equipment, including load sizing and electrical schematic creation. Develop and support control systems for industrial equipment through PLC programming, HMI programming, and integration with robotic systems and control networks. Program and commission servo controllers and closed-loop electro-hydraulic positioners for mechanical, hydraulic, compressor, and pump-based manufacturing equipment. Oversee installation and commissioning of PLC-based hardware and software systems, ensuring alignment with design and performance standards. Identify, procure, and integrate industrial equipment and automation technologies for engineering projects. Assist in design of tools and fixtures to support production and automation needs. Support maintenance personnel when troubleshooting programs, electrical circuits, and mechanical systems, including after-hours on-call rotation. Drive improvements in manufacturing process performance and product quality. Create and maintain standards, procedures, manuals, and technical documentation for engineering projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from a four-year college/university
  • 5+ years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members to share information, resolve issues, and provide training to less experienced employees
  • Ability to write professional emails
  • Ability to keep an up-to-date calendar
  • Ability to use Microsoft Teams for meetings, chats, and collaboration
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to read and apply technical documents like data sheets, white papers, and operation manuals for components used on industrial equipment
  • Broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices
  • Must be able to comply with all safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping standards, as well as quality procedures and practices

  • Additional experience with Rexroth motors and drives
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
