Job Summary
Develop software for industrial robotic and controls platforms using diverse environments, including Fanuc robots, Kuka robots, Beckhoff, and Siemens PLCs. Commission new equipment by following detailed user manuals and debug common electrical issues while utilizing Roboguide. Program advanced-level Fanuc robots and, if applicable, Siemens S7 PLCs using IEC 61131-3 languages and TIA Portal. Diagnose electrical faults autonomously and tune motion control systems such as VFDs and drives. This role requires a British Citizen with security clearance up to Developed Vetting level, regular travel to client sites across defence and other sectors, and the ability to rapidly learn new technologies.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience programming Fanuc robots at an advanced level
- STEM degree, preferably engineering
- Experience using Roboguide
- Ability to communicate at a high technical level, in both written and verbal English
- Willingness, interest, and ability to rapidly learn new technology
- Able to work on own initiative and autonomously
- Competent diagnosing common electrical issues
- Willing and able to travel
- British Citizen
- be able to obtain security clearance up to Developed Vetting level
Desired Qualifications
- Experience commissioning and programming Siemens S7 PLCs and TIA Portal
- PLC programming in IEC 61131-3 languages (ST essential)
- Motion control, including VFD setup and drive tuning
- Functional Safety (designing, programming, validating)
- Experience with other industrial automation devices
