Controls Engineer

Job Summary
Lead a team of electrical engineers to design conveyor systems for automotive manufacturing; collaborate with project engineering and management to ensure accurate equipment specifications; create and refine CAD designs for conveyor systems from concept to implementation; travel to customer sites, vendors, and manufacturing locations for meetings and project oversight; provide technical support to project managers, equipment assemblers, and site supervisors; work with electrical and software engineers, vendors, and participate in design reviews and customer job-site meetings; leveraging expertise in 24V DC, 120V AC, 240V AC, and 480V AC electrical systems, VFD motor controls, and AutoCAD for electrical design.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum three years of experience designing PLC systems
- Strong understanding of 24V DC, 120V AC, 240V AC, and 480V AC electrical circuits (single and three-phase)
- Expertise in VFD motor controls and automation systems
- AutoCAD proficiency for electrical design and schematics
- Ability to travel within North America, including Mexico (up to 25%)
- Familiarity with GM, Ford, and FCA electrical control standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, management, and project teams
- Experience designing conveyor systems for automotive manufacturing
