Job Summary
Controls Engineer who will design, implement, and maintain complex control systems for manufacturing processes, optimizing performance and ensuring safe, reliable operations. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to install and commission new equipment, continuously assessing process performance through control system modifications and troubleshooting, training control technicians, collecting and analyzing machine data to identify improvement opportunities, and driving operational excellence by identifying and implementing new technologies and processes. Requires OSHA compliance awareness, advanced understanding of electrical codes and safety procedures, and expertise with Siemens PCS7/Step 7, PLC/DCS/QCS, VFDs, instrumentation, and HMI hardware/software, plus experience with OT networks and strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Preference for experience with paper machines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of industrial controls experience in continuous process manufacturing
- Expertise in Siemens PCS7 and Step 7
- Strong understanding of PLC, DCS, QCS, VFDs, instrumentation, and HMI hardware/software
- Proficiency in industrial control networks (OT networks)
- Excellent data analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with paper machines (preferred)
