Job Summary
Design and implement control systems, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, for manufacturing equipment and processes. Program and troubleshoot PLC systems to ensure operational requirements are met, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate controls with mechanical, electrical, and software components. Conduct system tests and validations to verify reliability, functionality, and compliance with industry standards. Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams on control system operation and troubleshooting. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce downtime. Maintain documentation, including system specifications, schematics, and technical manuals. This role supports optimizing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining operational safety within our Madison Heights, MI manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and not require current or future sponsorship for employment visa status
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), HMI development, and SCADA systems
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, automation technologies, and industrial controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree preferred
- Experience with robotics and motion control systems is a plus
