Controls Engineer (On Site)

Job Summary
Design complete automation systems using AutoCAD Electrical, including power distribution, I/O controls, and panel layouts. Configure, debug, and test equipment on the shop floor while leading start-up projects from initiation to completion. Troubleshoot equipment and system problems for manufacturing and facility equipment to identify root causes, and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant equipment. Wire and repair electric motors, install and program PLCs and robot systems, and manage time and costs to stay within budget. Lead shutdown and major maintenance activities, advise operators on safety procedures, and perform lockouts or tagouts as required.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering
- 2-5+ years engineering experience in building controls, machine tools, and troubleshooting control systems
- Robot programming, Fanuc
- Vision programming, Cognex and Fanuc IRVision
- Experience with PLC protocols: Allen Bradley RSLogix, Siemens Step 5 & 7, GE Machine Edition, and Mitsubishi
- Experience setting up and utilizing networks using DeviceNet, Profibus, ProfiNet, Ethernet, Ethernet/IP
- Experience setting up Allen Bradley, Seimens and Automation Direct HMI screens/panels
- Experience with VFD Drives, installation, repair and programming of ABB, Parker, AB, Yaskawa, and Siemens
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
- Ability to lead a project at installation and be the main customer interface
- Understanding of RIA robot safety standards, OSHA safety standards, and NFPA 79 and 70E standards
- Must be willing to work on site full time (this position is not remote)
- Must be willing to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
