Job Summary
Controls Engineer III responsible for 24/7 support of site process automation and data collection systems at PGT Venice manufacturing operations. Own commissioning and qualification processes for automation systems; develop and ensure compliance with local quality standards. Develop and implement the site automation functional agenda; align with Quality, Engineering, and Operations leadership to drive results. Function as system owner for exclusive automation systems; assign resources for custodianship; manage site procedures and technical standards; oversee continuous improvement and recapitalization of owned systems; lead root cause investigations of nonconformances. Provide management support for automation contractor personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)
- Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience in automation, process, plant, project delivery, or related areas
- Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in programming process automation systems including common PLC and SCADA platforms
- Strong communication and networking skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety requirements for automated systems
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically
- Experience with commissioning and qualification of automation systems
- Experience owning or custodianship of site process automation and data collection systems
- Ability to mentor and coach automation staff
