Job Summary
Design scalable electrical and automation systems for HSM's production environments, developing PLC and HMI code while configuring drives, safety circuits, and robotic systems. Implement reliable industrial networks including EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and OPC UA, then lead root cause analysis for control failures to improve machine uptime. Integrate equipment data with SCADA and MES tools to support OEE and traceability initiatives, while maintaining system documentation for IATF 16949 and OSHA compliance. Manage small to mid-sized automation projects, coordinate with vendors, and mentor junior engineers across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, or Controls Engineering
- 3–6 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering
- Proficient with PLC/HMI programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and drive systems
- Advanced knowledge of automation systems, VFDs, safety circuits, and SCADA/Ignition
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate across teams
- Comfortable working with vendors and presenting solutions to leadership
- Up to 25% travel primarily to support equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and audits across TSM sites
Desired Qualifications
- Background in foam, automotive, furniture, or related manufacturing
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3 standards
