Controls Engineer II

Job Summary
Provide automation support and troubleshooting for formulation areas while assisting in the implementation of change controls for process improvements and bug fixes. Design, implement, and support PLC, HMI, and SCADA software alongside electrical hardware systems, ensuring alignment with manufacturing processes and process instrumentation. Investigate and solve complex problems to maintain solid rapport with customers, peers, and supervisors. Address on-call requests as needed while remaining a minimum of 80% billable. This role offers the opportunity to diversify talents within pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and automotive industries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field
- 3-5 years of experience in process control and automation
- Ability to support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
- Ability to address on-call requests as needed
- Remaining a minimum of 80% billable with leadership and sales assistance
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in programming/developing/configuring PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA software for control systems (experience with Rockwell, FactoryTalk View SE/ME; iFix, DeltaV, PlantPAx, PCS7, Siemens, or Wonderware is a plus)
- Understanding manufacturing processes and process instrumentation
- Demonstrating solid rapport with clients, peers, and supervisors
- Being a self-starter that can work both independently and in team-based project environments
