Job Summary
Controls Engineer II responsible for the design, tracking, and installation of HVAC/building automation systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and creating/installing software and system graphics. Coordinates with the Controls Team Lead and Engineering Manager, serves as the main technical liaison to customers, assists with startup, certification, and project turnover, and develops project information, submittals, and ‘as-built’ documentation. Performs point-to-point checkout, creates control programs for AHUs, VAV/RTU configurations, and boiler/chiller plants, updates project graphics, and facilitates RFIs during projects. Requires travel to job sites for start-up/commissioning and may include overtime or weekend work. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Ethernet networking, Windows OS, and strong communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering
- Minimum four years of experience in engineering systems and/or systems service
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, HVAC and electrical concepts and operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Proficient in AutoCAD drafting standards
- Proficient in setting up Ethernet networks
- Proficient in Windows operating systems for workstation/server applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to carry out instructions and prioritize tasks
