Controls Engineer II

Controls Engineer II follows instructions related to the design, tracking, and installation of HVAC/building automation systems and associated services. Acts as main technical liaison to customers, coordinates with the Controls Team Lead and Engineering Manager, and may train customers and employees, order materials, enter data, and program and install software.Responsibilities include: commissions and graphics generation for job sites, point-to-point checkout, verifying sequences of operation, setting up trend information, scheduling equipment, modifying drawings in AutoCAD for graphical interfaces, creating system graphics, assisting with startup/certification/project turnover, maintaining work quality, collecting signed documentation; programming for computer-based systems (from simple AHUs to large boiler/chiller plants), implementing program strategies for VAV/RTU controls, updating project information and RFIs, preparing system network layouts and as-built drawings, and staying current with software changes; assisting with sales estimating and providing technical customer service and relationship management. Requires: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/architectural engineering, minimum four years of engineering systems experience, knowledge of automation/HVAC/electrical concepts, ability to read blueprints and manuals, AutoCAD proficiency, Ethernet networking proficiency, Windows OS proficiency, strong communication skills, quantitative abilities, organizational skills; travel to and from job sites for start-up and commissioning, occasional overnight stays, and on-call support; 40 hours of continuing education annually.
