Job Summary
Evaluate, design, program, commission, and sustain plant control systems (PLC/DCS/HMI) and related instrumentation while ensuring reliable data collection and historian integrations. Lead safety initiatives, promote safe work practices, and ensure compliance with state, federal regulations, and standards including PSM, RMP, and MOC requirements. Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations through preventive maintenance execution, calibration, and hardware/software updates. Execute control system changes via the Management of Change process, develop standards, and provide technical support for capital projects, startup, and operational handover. Mentor technicians, train personnel, and collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, and IT teams to improve automation capabilities and process reliability.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with instrumentation and control systems
- Minimum of 3 years of experience interfacing with contractors
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Able to stand for up to 12 hours per day
- Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet on occasion
- Able to perform manual dexterity tasks
- Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day without restrictions
- Ability to meet DOT vision requirements
