Job Summary
As a Controls Engineer, you will design, maintain, and optimize control systems for candy production, ensuring equipment runs efficiently and reliably. Responsibilities include managing the installation and support of PLC hardware and software, troubleshooting complex systems, programming PLCs using RSLogix and FactoryTalk Studio, and configuring HMI systems. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills, knowledge of UL and CE standards, and familiarity with various motion controllers and signal protocols. A Bachelor of Science degree and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering or Business
- 3 to 5 years of process industry related experience with automation control, PLC Ladder Logic programming, HMI design and configure
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Industry Standards UL and CE
- Familiarity with Vision Systems (e.g. Eagle Vision, Keyence)
- Knowledge of various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g. Yasakawa, ABB, Kinetix)
- Understanding of RS232 and RS485 protocol, Profibus DP/PA protocols, Variable Frequency Drive systems
- Read and understand electrical schematics, ladder logic programs, process flow diagrams, and process and instrumentation diagrams
